Hibs are set to land striker Elias Melkersen in a £350,000 deal from Norwegian side Bodo/Glimnt.

First revealed by Norwegian website TV2 and now being reported as a near done deal by the Scottish Sun.

TV2 reported the fee as between 3m-5m Krona (£350,000-£550,000) but the Sun now reports it as £350,000.

The 19-year-old was sent out loan last season with Ranheim IL (Norway) last season and hit 19 goals in 29 games.

Melkersen also had a previous loan spell with IL Hodd (Norway), scoring 4 goals in 7 games.

Hibs have obviously been impressed and are on the verge of splashing out the biggest transfer fee they have in a while.

They paid Dunfermline £250,000 for Kevin Nisbet but this deal will eclipse it.

The deal is being reported in Norway as expected to being completed in the next 48 hours.

Hibernian-Mad View:

This news has come from nowhere, but it has us excited (especially after watching his youtube videos).

£350,000 would be the biggest transfer fee the Hibees have paid in quite a while

Bodo/Glimnt are also playing at a good level (they face Celtic in the European Conference League soon) and this boys knows where the goals are.

If Melkersen is as good as he looks, stick him in an attacking line-up with Boyle, Mueller, Doidge and Nisbet and we look really tasty up top.
