Hibs set to sign Man Utd defender Will Fish on loan

According to the Manchester Evening News, Hibs are closing in on the signing of Manchester United defender Will Fish.

The 19-year-old centre back is expected to sign for the Hibees on loan until the end of the season, after a move for Southampton kid Dynel Simeu hit the skids.

Fish recently signed a new long-term deal at Old Trafford until 2025, and is highly thought of by the English giants.

United loaned him out to Stockport County last season, but re-called him due to lack of game time, when he only played 1 game during a six month loan.

Fish has also only played 1 game for Manchester United, making hid Premier League debut against Wolves during the 2020/2021 season.

He has also been capped by England at U17, U18 and U19 level.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

It's good to see Hibs in for a central defender, but we are crying out for an experienced campaigner and not another kid.

Fish has only played two first team games in his career.

If Hibs were signing TWO central defenders and Fish was one, we would be delighted.

However, we threw Middlesbrough loanee Nathan Wood in at the deep end in the SPFL and his debut, and only Hibs game, was an absolute disaster.

Let's hope Fish has more about him being at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

If he signs he gets our backing.
