Hibs sign QPR keeper Dillon Barnes on loan

Hibs boss Jack Ross has today completed his fifth signing of the summer, landing QPR keeper Dillon Barnes on loan.

The 24-year-old Londoner has joined the Hibees on loan until the end of the season and will give Ofir Marciano some much-needed competition for the number 1 jersey.

6ft 4in Barnes has some decent experience having played for Colchester United, as well as numerous loan spells with the likes of Welling Town and Hemel Hempstead.

Speaking to the official website, the Easter Road new boy said:

“It’s a privilege to have signed on loan for Hibernian.

“I already knew a fair bit about the club and was in no doubt it was a move I wanted to make, especially after speaking to a few people with experience of Scottish football.

“I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Hibs boss Jack Ross added:

“Dillon gives us another option in an area of the pitch where we’re light in terms of numbers. He’s keen to develop and hungry to play.”

Dillon looks a good solid signing.

He should give Ofir Marciano the push needed to keep his performance levels high.

It also allows young Kevin Dabrowski to head out on loan.
