Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet signs for Millwall in 2.2m deal

Hibs hitman Kevin Nisbet has sealed a transfer to Millwall.

The 26-year-old has apparently signed a 3-year-deal with the London club, with the option a fourth.

Millwall have apparently paid the Hibees £2.2m with add-ons, and a sell-on fee has also been agreed.

Nisbet turned down the same move in January, after he had just returned from injury, but his move the Den seems to have now been completed and it should be announced shortly.

His former club Dunfermline will benefit from the move, as they have a reported 30% sell-on in the deal, which will see them pocket £660,000 from the move, on top of the £300,000 Hibs paid for the Scotland striker.

Nisbet scored 40 goals in 101 games for Hibs.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

It's a big blow to lose Kevin, he has been excellent since we signed him from the Pars.

However, you can't grudge him the move.

Milwall are in no way a bigger club, but the money in the English game probably means his pay has shot up towards the £20,000 a week mark.

No clubs in Scotland, outside the ugly sisters, can offer those kind of wages, and there is also added bonus of a possible promotion or move to the promised land of the English Premiership.

Hibs will bank around £1.6m after paying Dunfermline, they have to re-invest it in bringing in a replacement and also bolstering other areas of the squad.
