Hibs striker Steven Fletcher has been called up to George Burley's first squad as Scotland manager for the game against Croatia at Hampden on Wednesday 26th March (8pm kick off).

The 20-year-old hitman has smashed 14 goals for the Hibees already this season and is on course to break the 20 barrier before the SPL season finishes.

Fletcher is already capped at U17, U19, U21 and "B" level for
Scotland and could be in with a shout of making his first start at full international level.

Hibees boss Mixu Paatelainen was delighted with the news and hailed his on form striker, he said:

"I am really delighted for him, it is a nice boost and it is one that I think he deserves because he has worked hard this season and done well for us.

He will be determined to take this opportunity with both hands and he has a lot of qualities to his game. He will always score goals. He is a great finisher and is always looking to get himself into space.

"He reads the game well, he is always hungry for goals, makes good runs and is a great team player as well."

Also included in the squad is former
Hibernian Youth Academy products Kenny Miller, Scott Brown and Garry O'Connor, proving once again that the Hibees have the best youth policy in the country.
