Hibs Transfer Window Round-Up: Signings

Last updated : 08 September 2022 By Steve Forbes

So the summer transfer window has officially closed, and we are pretty sure it must be the busiest transfer window the club has ever had.

Here we take a look at the the Hibees new signings, and give them a rating as to how they have fared so far.

David Marshall - QPR - Keeper - FREE - An unbelievable signing. Marshall has announced his international retirement, so he can concentrate on his club form, so far he's been superb. Rating so far: 10

Ewan Henderson - Celtic - Midfielder - FREE - Spent last season at Easter Road on loan and had a decent season, has come back and shown in glimpses he can be a good player. Rating so far: 6

Nohan Kenneh - Leeds United - Midfielder - FREE - Has started his career at Easter Road well, scored in the loss to Livingston and the defensive midfielder looks a good find. Was dropped for a couple of games, but was back in for Saturday's win over Kilmarnock - Rating so far: 7

Mamadou Bojang - Rainbow FC - Striker - LOAN - We feel a bit sorry for Bojang. Waited an age on his work permit, and came in weeks behind the rest of the squad. Has only made 3 appearances, all from the bench, but has managed to miss TWO absolute sitters, one away at Livingston and Saturday's howler against Killie. Needs more time from the support to settle properly. Rating so far: 2

Rocky Bushiri - Norwich City - Defender - £100,000 - Signed in bizarre circumstances, it seemed Hibs had decided not to sign him after last seasons loan at Easter Road. However, his number of appearances triggered a clause and he signed - to much dissapointment from the support after a poor loan spell plagued by injury. However, the big man hasn't put a foot wrong. been excellent since his return. Rating so far: 8

Lewis Miller - MacArthur FC - Right Back - UNDISCLOSED FEE - The Hibees paid a fee to get the Aussie defender out of a pre-contract he had already agreed for next season with Macarthur FC in his homeland. We have not seen much of him so far, although what we have seen is, he looks raw, but will hopefully improve as he settles in to Scottish football. Rating so far: 3

Jair Tavares - Benfica - Winger - UNDISCLOSED FEE - Another player the Hibees paid a fee for, and another who waited quite a while for a work permit!! Shown a couple of flashes he has something, but has only made 2 subs appearances and until he gets a decent run in the team, we won't know what he can do. Rating so far: 3

Aiden McGeady - Sunderland - Winger - FREE - We all know what McGeady can do, but he has already picked up a long-term injury, keeping him out for an expected 12 weeks. The 36-year-old had a slow start to his career with the Hibees, let's hope we can get him fit and keep him fit. Rating so far: 1

Elie Youan - St Gallen - WInger/Striker - LOAN - He has been superb so far. Created goals for Martin Boyle against both Hearts and Rangers. He is very pacey and always looks dangerous, you get the feeling once he gets his first goal, more will follow. Rating so far: 8

Marijan Cabraja - Dinamo Zagreb - Left Back - FREE - Been excellent since signing for the Hibees. he's solid defensively and likes getting forward. Can also whip a wicked cross in. Sadly lost his dad recently, but it hasn't affected his game. Rating so far: 8

Martin Boyle - Al Faisaly - Winger/Striker - UNDISCLOSED FEE - Apparenty the Hibees broke their transfer record to seal the return of Boyler, some quarters suggesting the fee was over £1m. Despite having no pre-season, he came back with an absolute bang, scoring against Hearts and Rangers in his first few games. Getting better every week. Rating so far: 9

Ryan Schofield - Huddersfield - Keeper - LOAN - Signed as an emergency, once back-up keeper Kevin Dabrowski picked up a long-term injury in training. Not made an appearance, so we can't judge. Rating so far: *

Will Fish - Manchester United - Defender - LOAN - Arrived on transfer deadline day from the English giants, but again, hasn't played yet, so hard to judge. Rating so far: *

Mykola Kukharevych - Troyes - Striker - LOAN - Another who arrived on transfer deadline day and is yet to feature. Still in Belgium, the 6ft 4in striker is waiting for his work permit. Rating so far:

Harry McKirdy - Swindon Town - Striker - £400,000 - Hibs final transfer deadline day signing, and one that has captured the imagination of the support. On paper he is a goal scorer, looked lively in his one sub appearance so far - Rating so far: 1

DEVELOPMENT:

Rueben MacAllister - Bristol City - Midfielder - £250,000 - The Hibees splashed out an eye watering amount of money for a 16-year-old development player, and the fee could rise further, with reports suggesting with add-ons we could end up paying £500,000.

Kyle McLelland - Rangers - Defender - FREE - Has already played a few games for the first team, but definately in need of a loan to gain experience. Has shown potential, hopefully Hibs can nurture it.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

There has been complaints from some sections of the support, especially the lack of a centre half signing.

However, on paper we have signed some exciting, young, hungary players and hopefully it bodes well for the season ahead.

Our transfer window rating: 7
