Hibs youngster Paul Hanlon has today been sent out on loan to first division side St Johnstone.

Hanlon, 18, is the latest kid to progress through the Hibees famous youth set-up and initially joins the Saints for a month.

The left back has just signed a 5-year-deal at Easter Road and is delighted to be gaining some first-team experience on top of what he has tasted for the Hibees.

Hanlon has made 11 appearances and scored 1 goal for the Hibernian first team, and will see this loan as a chance to push himself further into the reckoning of boss Mixu Paatelainen.

Hanlon said:

"I'm delighted to be here. It was a great boost getting a long-term deal from Hibs, but I got a taste of first-team football this season and now I want more.

"Hopefully I can get games here and if everything goes well and the clubs agree, maybe the loan could be
extended
."
