Hibs have today revealed that youngster Rueben McAllister has went out on loan.

The 17-year-old midfielder has joined League One club Kelty Hearts until the end of the season.

McAllister, son of former Hibs assistant boss Jamie, joined the Hibees from Bristol City last season, in a deal that was reported as a whopping £500,000 for the then 16-year-old.

He has gone on to impress in the Academy and playing for the development side, and has even made his first team debut against Inter Club d'Escaldes in the Europa Conference League earlier this season.

Gareth Evans, Hibernian FC Academy Director, said:

“This is a good opportunity for Reuben to go out and play senior football at a competitive level.

“Reuben is technically a very good player and this experience will be a good test for him physically to help aid his development.

“Kanayo Megwa had a successful loan spell with Kelty last season and we look forward to following Reuben's progress. Everyone at the Club wishes Reuben the best of luck with the loan move."

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

A good move for the kid, he obviously has bags of talent, and some first team exposure at his age would be a massive boost.

Hibs have invested heavily in him, they need to see him develop and push for the first team in the coming years.

Good luck Reuben.
