Newcastle United have become the latest club linked to prolific Hibernian forward Steven Fletcher.

Fletch, 20, has hit 14 goals this season so far for the Hibees, despite picking up an ankle ligament injury that kept him out for a number of weeks.

The Scotland U21 international has come to the attention of Magpies boss Kevin Keegan after he sent scouts to watch Barry Robson while he played for Dundee Utd and also when he sent scouts to look at Celtic winger Aiden McGeady.

Fletcher is thought to be high on the shopping list of the
Newcastle boss, but Keegan will face stiff competition for the striker's signature.

Fletcher has attracted the interest of La Liga giants Real Madrid, who have him on a list of the top 10 hottest properties in
Europe, while Bolton Wanderers also showed interest in the player last season.

Aston Villa, Manchester City and Everton are all also thought to be tracking the player's progress.

Bidding will likely start at £4m for the in demand forward and Hibs will struggle to hold on to the ever improving hitman beyond the summer.
