Norwich and Middlesbrough join chase for Hibs striker Kamberi

Last updated : 14 July 2020 By Steve Forbes

According to reports in today's press Hibs striker Florian Kamberi is a wanted man.

Hull City, Rangers and Swiss side St Gallen have already been linked with the player, but according to a number of reports tonight, a new trio of English sides have made their interest known.

Middlesbrough, Huddersfield Town and Norwich City have now joined the chase for the former Grasshoppers man.

Kamberi is back at Easter Road after a short-term loan spell with Rangers, and his comments on joining the Glasgow club have all but ended his Hibs career.

The 25-year-old stating on arriving at Ibrox, that he knew in only his second Hibs game, against Rangers at Ibrox, that he wanted to leave for the Glasgow side.

It's also understood the player wants out of Easter Road.

Kamberi hasn't been without contorversy since singing from Grashoppers in 2018 in a £150,000 deal, a bust-up with then Hibs boss Neil Lennon, ending the popular Irishman's reign at Easter Road.

Hibs are said to be looking to AT LEAST recoup the £150,000 they paid for the striker, and will be hoping the new interest will cause a bidding war.

Editor's View:

Kamberi's time is up at Easter Road, the support wouldn't accept him back in a Hibs strip.

The club will be hoping to get as much money for the player as possible and a move away is best for all parties.

His comments were ill advised and have pretty much ended his career at Easter Road.

Jack Ross has clearly already signed his replacement, with the capture of Kevin Nisbet in a £250,000 deal from Dunfermline last week.
