According to reports on twitter, now being picked up by national newspapers, English side Watford have made the first move in the race to sign Hibs teenage sensation Josh Doig.

Doig, who turned 19 the other day, has been linked with the likes of Man City, Arsenal, Leeds United, Celtic, Stoke and Sunderland, but the newly promoted London side look to have made the first move.

According to reports the deal is £2.5m upfront, with another £1.5m in add-ons, also including a sell-on fee.

However, Hibs have told Watford that any negotiations will have to wait until after Saturday's Scottish Cup Final clash with St Johnstone.

It's been an incredible rise for the young defender, who only broke through to the Hibees first team earlier this season.

Doig has played little more than 30 first team games, but has been outstanding.

However, £2.5m, in our opinion, is WAY off the mark for the most exciting young talent in Scottish Football.
